Front facing camera only works in tablet mode?

I have a toshiba U920T hybrid laptop, the front facing camera only works if the screen is in the tablet position. If i unfold the screen to the laptop position the camera turns off. The back camera works in both positions. In the laptop position the camera even disappears in the device manager!!

Did you check with Toshiba if this is how it should work? Seems a bit odd but who knows.

I've had the laptop for a while and it only started doing this a couple of weeks ago, so i don't believe it would be by design.
