G73sx or G46vw

So i've always been a pc gamer.. Not much a laptop dude.
But now i actually need one to game/edit videos on the way.. I have lots of knowledge about computers.. But laptops are meh, had a macbook pro and i love it and is still using it, but the 6years old laptop with a 320m is not really ideal for my needs now..

Anyway I'm on a a budget and I wanted to pick one of those:
Asus G73SX:
i7 2630QM
8GB DDR3
1TB HDD
Full HD 120hz monitor
GTX 560M

Or
Asus G46VW
i5 3230M
8GB DDR3
480 GB SSD
GTX 660M
just above 720p monitor.


The first one leads with a better quad core processor, a waay better screen (not a fan of the 1366x768 res). But the second has the 660M and the great SSD upgrade advantage..

Also the first one is in my country available to drive and pick up, whilst the other is on ebay..
Price wise the first (G73SX) is 661$
While the second (G46VW) is 580$

And I'm pushing my budget a bit more for the 661$ one

What do you think I should do ?

If your going to edit, then the first one is going to be best. However gaming won't be that great.

I know gaming wont be that great on both of them, actually the quad core i7 gives a bit of a performance boost in terms of gaming. And the 560m can be overclocked to reach the 660m levels..

I would choose the second one as the gpu is better than the first. You can use the gpu's power in editing and the ssd will make a huge difference in gaming and editing.

I think the quad core cpu will matter more for editing. And performance wise the i7 + overclocked 560m will give more than a dual core with a 660m

I went ahed and got the G74SX.. And i'm satisfied with the performance, not regretting my decision at all. But it's huge, and heavy.
