Galaxy S2 jellybean upgrade

Does anyone know any details about when the S2 i9100 will be getting an upgrade from Android 4.0.4 to 4.1?
I know i could root it and upgrade to Jellybean, but i cant be bothered
ICS is ok, but Jellybean looks much smoother and just 'better.'
I had seen the article below but it is quite vague, only saying an update was confirmed, with no details of how long until an upgrade is released

I think by the end of this year, I'm not sure, I have a mini 2 and I'm waiting as well, hopefully soon.

i just got my update the other day, and my S2 is running better than it was when i bought it (ICS 4.0.4)
its a shame that samsung didnt add in multiwindow as was rumored, but at least their two year old former flagship got an upgrade , when they could have easily decided not to
