Gallaxy S3 charging amps??

I just got a 2.4 amp car charger for my Samsung Galaxy s3. Is it safe for the phone and the battery?

There's no problem with having a too large charger - the phone only draws what it needs.

However, note that many cheap chinese chargers cannot actually deliver the rated current.

You've not mentioned your charger details. But I've got Avantek car charger from Amazon for my Galaxy S4. It's working great and good fit for my S4. Got everything perfect as it says on it's features. No less in power.

IF it is an actual 2.4A charger with little ripple, then it's fine. However, if it's a cheap one without a trusted brand on it, toss it.
