If they get their way with this, the next thing they are going to say is that EA's Need For Speed Series is encouraging illegal racing and speeding...

Too bad the Geneva Convention only covers acts committed against living or deceased human beings and not digitized representations of fictional characters, therefore their argument has no merit no matter how much those lawyers are "versed in the interpretation of humanitarian laws".

"Why not use popular Hollywood movies as test subjects? Because they don't involve hands-on interaction."

While the above is true of the audience seeing the movie, it is not true of the actors portreying those actions during the filming process. By that logic, those movies should not be allowed to be filmed as acting out those scenes would violate humanitarian laws.

Of course we all know that is propostrous, because that is just acting, and what they are doing is only make belief and not real, much like the digital representation of fictional characters in a video game.

Maybe they should spend more time and effort going after real people committing real humanitarian crimes in real life, and less wasting their time on nonesense like this..

okay so movies and tv shows can no longer kill people either. Say goodbye to CSI, CSI:NY, CSI: Miami, Criminal Minds, NCIS, NCIS:NY and just about every good movie on the planet. If you are going to cry like a bunch of babies for video games, they are under the same category as movies and books for that matter so start STOPPING IT ALL

"Ultimately, the study determined that the games are sending an "erroneous" message that conflicts are waged without limits. The study also determined that games provide an impression that anything is acceptable in counter-terrorism operations. Other studies outside the humanitarian groups have indicated otherwise, reporting that the games don't desensitize players, and that they are fully aware the experience is simply fantasy." Games didn't teach me that, my government did

Everyday, I fantasize about shooting innocent civilians, raping women and children, demolishing churches and villages, eat dead burned bodies. But that's okay, i'm not a bad person, it's just a game.

Total nonsense!!! Just a bunch of greedy lawyers looking to make an extra buck. As toastninja17 already said:
[citation][nom]toastninja17[/nom]It's a f*cking GAME..[/citation]
It all comes down to 'first years' and proper parenting. Everything else is BS.

If you think this is infuriating, wait till you get a load of this article:

http://www.navytimes.com/news/2009/11/UPnavy_seals_charged_112409w/

Nothing like 3 navy seals getting charged with assault on a detainee for giving one of the most wanted terrorists out there a fat lip. This is thanks to the people you elect into power...insanity
