Well seeing as it's winter......

//sarcasm

Part of it is probably the over reaction about skin cancer resulting in the "need" of SPF 60 - 100. In which case your better off wearing cloak to cover it up. Although more outdoors time would not do anyone harm.

[citation][nom]m man[/nom]Video games are blamed for everything. What will they be blamed for next? Polution?[/citation]

next week's headline, "Video Games Responsible for Global Warming!"

On the pollution point, do you know how much energy it takes to run your computer/console? /sarcasm

Next in the news, Scurvy is on the rise because kids can not eat a fruit and hold a controller at the same time, and the controller always wins. (Note: Mt. Dew is not considered a fruit) /more sarcasm

That picture is pure win.
On another note, I don't know about anyone else, but constantly having to worry about paying bills and other shit causes way more anti social behavior for me. I would be out socializing, learning more social grace if I didn't have to worry about paying for parking meters, rising gas prices, etc. On the other hand, here in Chicago, 8 months of our weather sucks big time. Bad weather and a whole host of other things our society has created may be the reason for anti-social behavior, not one of the tools use to escape.

Milk and juice are already supplemented with vitamin D and calcium in the US. Last I checked dietitians are recommending everyone take a daily multivitamin as well. Alternatively you can simply make sure your diet includes plenty of spinach and fish. Then again, you have to be careful of mercury in fish.

I remember looking forward to a Flintstones chewable every day as a kid, and I take an 'adult' multivitamin daily. Staying out in the sun for longer than a few minutes is a bad idea for me because my fair skin will burn quickly, and wearing sunblock defeats the purpose.

Everyone who has an office job is likely to suffer vitamin D deficiency. Besides, prolonged exposure to the sun can lead to skin cancer, and balancing the exposure needed for vitamin D while minimizing the risk of skin cancer is difficult. That's why doctors usually prescribe vitamin D supplement when deficiency is found. Of-course, the level of vitamin D in the blood needs to be monitored and adjusted as any vitamin overdose is also risky.

So once again, we have a hype over nothing, and gaming is yet again blamed for problems it's not actually responsible for, by some conservative smart-ass.

Sure, doing nothing but playing video games all day can cause lots of problems, but that's just the result of over-doing something.

You can over-work, over-drink (not just alcohol, but water too), over-eat, over-exercise, over-medicate, over-expose yourself to the sun or to cellular phones radiation, etc. ...

All those things will have negative consequences.

Moderation and balance is the only way to healthy living, really.
