Hello all! I have a very difficult decision to make and I need your help to know if it is worth it because I am starting college this fall.
I have a built gaming rig that I am using right now, but it is obviously heavy and can't be moved around which makes me stuck at home. I am currently running a dual-screen setup, one 21" 1680x1050 and one 17"1280x1024, which takes up a bunch of space. Aside from those cons, my rig is awesome.

Also, I have an HP 8510w with a busted screen, but works perfectly fine and has 4GB RAM instead of 2 while everything else is standard. Screen will cost me around 100 bucks to fix.

Now onto my dilemma: Is it worth it to sell my rig and my laptop for a gaming laptop? I am thinking along the lines of a Sager NP7370. If anyone can find a gaming laptop with a color-controllable keyboard for under $1000 (Max $1250), that would be awesome!

PS: If you could let me know how much my gaming rig is worth, that would be much appreciated (includes both monitors, all cables, mouse and keyboard, and possibly a 2.1 speaker set).

My rig:
Case: Bitfenix Prodigy Arctic White
i3-3225 with Intel HD 4000
P8Z77-I Deluxe
630W Raidmax Hybrid-Modular (?) (Glows blue)
HDD: 1TB Samsung Spinpoint SATA II
HDD 2: WD Black (I think) 80GB
8GB DDR3 G-Skill Sniper @1600MHz (2x4GB)
Sapphire Dual-X 7850 OC with 2GB GDDR5
Windows 7 Ultimate

Additions:
Xigmatek orange LED 140mm Fan
Standard Gateway mouse and keyboard
Syncmaster 204BW Display 1680x1050 60-75Hz
Syncmaster 730B Display 1280x1024 60-75Hz
2 DVI Cables

Sager NP7370:
4th gen i7-4700MQ
HM87 Chipset
750GB 7200RPM HDD
8GB DDR3 @1600MHz (2x4GB)
765M 2GB GDDR5
Windows 7 Home Premium
17.3" Screen @1920x1080

Gaming PC is always better than a gaming laptop because it can be upgraded. A laptop has limited upgrade potential; typically the hard drive and RAM and on occasion the CPU. Rarely will you be able to upgrade the GPU. That is generally only possible in $1,500+ gaming laptops and only specific models.

I'd rather play games on a desktop than a laptop.

I know it is better in terms of performance, but is it worth the small performance drop for mobility without any intent to upgrade in the future? Or should I stick with my broken laptop for outside work?
