Gaming headset or 5.1 surround sound speakers

Want new speakers for gaming but dunno if i should go a Gaming headset or 5.1 surround sound speakers?
I was thinking a headset would be better for the mic, but if i got speakers it would be better for music and films.


But i need a mic

u cant use a mic and surround sound system at the same time without disturbing the people you are playing with so i would really recommend the headset.

a good pair of headphones can be just as effective for music and movies as an actual speaker system, if not more so. if your budget is around £200, I'd look at the sennheiser pc360s, or if you wanna go a little higher then definitely beyerdynamic mmx 300's.

i'd always take a high-end pair of headphones over a high-end speaker setup, mainly bc i hate feeling like i need to keep it below a certain volume. i'll listen as loudly as i like!
