Hey try xoticpc.com, they allow you to configure your own specs, even upgrade the cooling of the laptop. I love clevo machines, but im sure you couldnt go wrong with an Msi, go for the top end graphics card if he is looking for the latest and greatest. that is the 7970m or the gtx 680 the gtx 675m is alright but only the gtx 675mx is actually based on Kepler (gtx680m is also Kepler but does not receive the MX monicker)

those should serve you well. Just hope your boss understands that gaming laptops are heavy and clunky and have abysmal battery life. The razer blade has terrible specs for its price except for the cool GUI interface which is probably not all that useful. It wont max out and games or even support 1080p but then again it is light and portable. Though if he is a real gamer i doubt he would enjoy the razer blade.

Xoticpc looks like but I just do not understand which options to choose.

Matte or Glossy?

Copper upgrade?

Wireless upgrade?

1. Always go with matte less strain on the eyes
2. If you have the money get it color calibrated trust me
3. The copper upgrade will help in cooling but not to much and will add to weight+ get the ic diamond can improve temps up to 10C
4. Wireless upgrade if you hav an advanced wifi system or something dual band
5. Get a gtx 680m or a gtx 675mx which is 10% slower than 680m
6. If you really want to impress the boss you could try getting something like the carbon wrap where it is covered in it and special touch/eye opener but will add extra time
8. You may want to get another 128gb ssd it will work out better if you can tell them to put 2x 128gb ssd in raid 0. I would say stick to one 1 but ot would be $100 more to upgrade to 240gb

The only prebuilders I'd ever get a laptop from would be Falcon NW or Origin PCs.

As for alienware, I guarantee you that the poster was high or an alienware promoter.

- Sure, they have good parts, but only if you fork out triple the price of any other company.
- Yes, they have lights all over their computers. I find them distracting.
- Quality of parts BETTER be extraordinary, because their customer service is awful.
- Your CEO will surely be annoyed by the massive piles of bloatware that Dell computers have.
- "has a great reputation in the field of GAMING" ? This one really made me laugh. Their ads that lie give them a reputation among people who know nothing about computers and are buying gifts for gamers. Their reputation in the field of gaming is about what I've listed; overpriced, often underpowered computers backed by one of the worst companies in the computing industry.

Falcon northwest are just as expensive as alienware but most of that price is quality also origin though not as bad do not have a competitve price-to-performance. Msi might not have best warranty or stuff like that but they are well priced have a very nice keyboard & the best laptop audio

thet're the exact same except for gpu and hdd. Get the first one. even if he's only gaming with it, the extra 200-300 is not at all worth it.

the second has a slower hdd and a slightly faster gpu
