I am looking to buy a gaming laptop and I am wondering if somebody could recommend a brand or a specific laptop to me. My budget is about $1000-$1500 and I want to be able to run Skyrim and record with fraps at the same time

Any Suggestions?

Alienware is great, but Sager gives you the same plus more RAM and better GPU for a cheaper price.

With Sager you can get the 7970M for $1399, but Alienware costs +$200....so $1700.

Seems to be good enough. It has higher space, more RAM, better graphics (HD 7970M for free .. cool! 😛).

I am just worried about the fact that I have not heard about Sager company yet. Is it a good and reliable one? :)
I'm sorry I live in India.

It doesn't advertise as much as Alienware but the gaming community knows and respects Sager. You gotta buy
Sager at that price, I mean you get a 7970M + i7 + 8GB RAM for $1400. Nothing beats it.

Yeah surely! :)

Asus G75VW - $1350
Asus N56VJ -DH71 - $950

The latter can play Crysis 3, Dead space 3 on high settings and has very good specifications. 2 GB GT 650M, Core i7 3630QM, 8 GB RAM :)

Hope this suits you.

Funniest post I've read in a while.

My Lenovo Y500 is 1/2 the cost of that Dell POS and it can handle everything I want to play - even games like Borderlands and Civ V at high details. I'd second the Sager suggestion since most of the higher end resellers like Origin and Puget rebrand their laptops.

That POS is still the best gaming laptop of 2013 -

Just the fact that its made for aristocracies :)
Damn thing has HD 7970M 2 GB .. One of the best you can find in a laptop.

Alienware USED to be a good brand before they got bought by Dell. I should go find links to the number of horror stories I've read about them on this forum. I'll never buy a Dell PC again.

Funny, 9 out of 10 systems in that roundup are rebranded Sager laptops. With maybe the exception of the Asus.

If you go to Sager.com you can customize a laptop. For gaming you need a really good GPU. Sager has an awesome deal and you can upgrade to a 7970M for free. The 7970M is much better than Lenovo's GT750M, and almost the same price.

I cannot think of any reason to buy an Alienware from the website. Calling Alienware almost always yields much better deals.

Alienware will release its new models in a few days; I would wait until then.
