Gaming laptop under $1500

I'm currently studying in college and I want to buy a laptop for study purpose and also for gaming. I like to play games like Dota 2, Starcraft 2, Titanfall and BF3. I hope to buy a laptop that can play those games in high-ultra settings. I've been looking through some laptops and I came across two laptops that I really like.

1. Lenovo Y50

I can't really decide which laptop to get and would like to hear your opinions. If there are other laptops that you think would be better I'd appreciate if you let me know. Thanks

Why do you need a laptop? If it is for space, you could build a good gaming PC in a microATX case for much less. If you need something to carry to class, a gaming laptop is going to get very heavy. A tablet would be a much better option for taking notes if you must have a digital device in class.

I'm studying programming in college and I want a laptop for writing codes or video editing. Besides that, I would love to play games on it. Weight isn't really a problem as long as it's not too heavy.

I love both those choices and it's easily within your budget. I like the Y50 (Always make recommendations for a budget gaming laptop), but the MSI Apache is a great value as well.

I have to say that the Apache will be slightly faster in booting up programs because of the 7200RPM HDD and as a gaming laptop, it had more components catered to gamers (such as the Killer E2200 LAN and Intel Dual Band Wireless).

I've heard heat is an issue with the GE60, but most laptops have this problem during game sessions so a laptop cooler is necessary either way.

It's a hard choice so I'd compare reviews for each one and read up on the display quality.

I've read that the display for the Lenovo Y50 is really bad, not sure about it though. Do you know any other laptop within the budget that have just as good performance as those two laptops that I mentioned.
