Hello,
I am a college student who is looking for a nice laptop. I am interested in purchasing a gaming laptop. I would like to purchase one that will run newer games on high settings, but I do not want to go over 1000$. Is there specific models that anyone recommends?

How about an Asus G53SX-XT1? Would this laptop be able to run Battlefield 3 and other new games on high settings? I am also looking at an ASUS G53SX-RH71. I would prefer to purchase an ASUS because I have read plenty of great reviews on them. However, I do not know if these models would be able to run BF3.

The ASUS G53SX-XT1 has the same spec as the SAger and the G53SX-RH71 has a slightly faster CPU. I am confident that they will all run Battlefield 3 on mid-high, but I don't think it will handle full high settings.

Ok thank you. I was looking over more information about these three laptops, and I have read that both ASUS laptops have a 128 bit gtx 560, but the Sager has a 192 bit gtx 560. Is that true? and if so, does it make a huge difference to the gameplay?

The G53SX-??? are 128 bit. The performance penalty is about 10-15%. I am not sure how much you are paying for the ASUS and if you can get some OC, the difference is less noticeable. So depends on the price and whether you are going to OC or not.

You may want to consider the warranties involved here. Should the Sager fail they will pay for shipping both ways. If the Asus failed you're responsible to ship it there and the last time I shipped one it was $80. Both will play BF3 simularly since they both are 560M. The other options are 570M for a slight upgrade (10% roughly) or either 580M or 6990M for another roughly 10% performance gain.

If you only want med-high setting any of these cards will do, averaging 30+ frames per second easily in bf3. Once you want to game at 1080, that when you will need the high end cards and in some cases you will need an SLI/Crossfire laptop.

I notice that you guys are all saying get a sager laptop. I have never really heard of them, and I don't know how good they are. Do you guys have sager laptops? And what do you think of them?
