Gaming laptops: Any recommendations?

My budget is £1,000 but I can go like £10 over or something small like that. I am looking to get desktop power out of it to be able to run any title on at least medium while still getting a good frame rate of 30+

Wow, that's a pretty large budget. Could get some nice things for that. I recommend looking at Lenovo's Y510p. You can get dual medium-end graphics cards in SLI for a very good price. However, it has heat problems. Otherwise, look at the ASUS g750 series. They have some excellent cooling solutions.
