Gaming on laptop with these specs?

Is Intel Core i5-4210U and NVIDIA GeForce 840M with 8 gb ram good for gaming? Max graphics arent necessary. I need at least 30 fps and i play on 1366x768.

The 940m should be powerful enough to play games at 1366x768 or 1600x900 resolution at medium settings (depending on the game). Playing games at 1080p is possible at low settings or maybe even medium settings, but it depends on the game. Games with low requirements like League of Legends can be played at 1080p with maxed out graphic settings.

The 840M is a decent graphics card that should play older games at medium settings, native resolution just fine. It will even play MGSV at relatively high framerates, though this speaks more about the optimization of MGSV than the performance of the 840M. Here's a video:
