hmm I'm hoping there will be window compatible USB device to do such thing, other wise "swift kick to the ***** " could be much cheaper :)

Easy. Grab two cell phones, sit a few feet apart, and text your night away. Nothing says 'contraception' than phonesex + a healthy dose of wireless radiation.

"and all reserves have been depleted"

Sorry, but I lol'ed at that.

This just seems like there could be too many things that could go wrong here. Someone blasts your testicles with an ultrasound and then they are "temporarily" broken? I would definitely be afraid of permanent damage.

Sounds awful. Probably isnt though. Fact is, men have almost no options in this arena of birth control. A 3rd option isnt going to be a bad thing even if it does involve "blast" and "testes" in the same sentence.

I am not fond of eugenics when the pseudoscience is in the hands of an elitist like Bill Gates and those associated with him. Sure the world has more than its fair share of problems but sterilizing people isn't the answer.

[citation][nom]Poisoner[/nom]Bill Gates is a eugenicist. This proves it right here.[/citation]

What do you think "Genetic Counseling" is? Stop connecting 'eugenics' with Hitler. It doesn't automatically mean killing people. There's no more natural selection for us, so we have to police our own genes. How in the world is that a bad thing? Apologies if that's not what you meant, but I get irritated how common such sentiments are.

As for this... Well, I'm a male, and I'm totally for male contraceptives, but... This sounds kind of scary. Will be interesting to see how it works out.

Furthermore (Why does Tom's Hardware but not Tom's Guide have edit, at least that I can find?), this is not eugenics. This is contraceptives. NOT the same thing. Are we reading the same article?

The amount of tinfoil hattery in some of these responses in mind boggling. I nearly spewed my dew when i read someone accuse bill gates of being a eugenicist and this being his maniacal cauldron pot stirring attempt at it.

Many of you commenting here apparently have either never read about the population problems in poorer countries, disease spread through birth, no birth control because of relatively high cost in 3rd world countries, etc. etc.

Even for me, a healthy adult male living in a quite well-to-do area of California, could see myself benefit from this. I personally don't want kids for at least a few years, and I can't always rely on the partner to have the birth control. And, yes, I hate condoms.

I think only the religious nuts and the sexually naive would be against this.

Amazing. You obviously have no idea how much good the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has done to improve the world. Might wanna read something other than Tom's once in a while, and perhaps make an informed comment.

Imagine the commercial potential of this technology. In the near future, men can go to a "balls blaster" pallor to buy peace of mind for, according to the article, up to six months. It's going to be a cottage industry.

Then again, there is this scenario: "Ops! One of the techs turned the dial up too high. Sor..ry! It's on the house."

I have the perfect idea. Simply have a device that plugs into the male urethra canal. Problem solved. Please make sure you write my name correctly on the check please.
