Solved! Gateway NV44 Speed Up

I have a Gateway NV44 Laptop. It has a T4500 Pentium Processor and has 4gb of ram installed (the maximum). It has Windows 10 on it. It is running very slow.

I was wondering if the following would help:

1. Getting an SSD drive (it has a Hitachi 320gb HDD now).
2. I don't think I can get more memory, but if I can let me know how much and if you think it will help.
3. I believe I can go back to Windows 7 with the Gateway recovery utility. Would this be a good idea?

It is a low end laptop and the best upgrade would be an ssd. Other than that not much else you can do with it.
