does anyone have experience with a
gericom hummer force (30680 or 3080 XL) ?

currently in the Netherlands this laptop is offered
by media markt. I'm planning on buying it.

It's equipped with a mobile P4 3.06 GHz, dvd+/- r/rw,
Geforce FX Go5600, 80 GB HD and an USB WLAN adapter
(11 mbps max).

I'm very much interested in cooling and tempature
handling of the device since my experience with laptops
so far is that most of them can't handle CPU intensive
computing (e.g. playing far cry) for a couple of hours.

Do You really belive this bullshit?

Read the technical data of this CPU

To call this "mobile" is a fraud!

And also, at many applications,
a Pentium-M 1.6 GHz is faster also.

Take a Pentium-M

This CPU needs for the same computing power
only about 25% of the electric power.

A Pentium-M notebook has at 100% CPU less power
usage than such a customer fraud at idling and
waiting for user input.

Same or better performance, much less heat,
no problem with games for hours.

When You ask for games, the new Acer travelmate 8003
with ATI Radeon 9700
