Getting keyboard input through microfone

Hello,
I'd like be able to send some key strokes with a microfone, for example "a" or, "control" keys, by speaking to a microfone. Is this possible?

There's also an open source freeware alternative called GAVPI, though it's probably not as fully-featured, and doesn't look like it's been updated in at least a year, whereas Voice Attack appears to see updates fairly regularly...
