In God of War, the more artifacts you collect, the more XP you will get. Also, you can sell the artifacts for a very decent amount of money at the Sindri or Brok locations. In this guide, I will tell you where and how you can collect all artifacts in God of War.
Wildwoods: Lost and Found:
All Lost and Found artifacts can be collected in Wildwoods region during the Marked Trees story chapter.
1. After you tell Atreus to start the hunting at the beginning of the game, he’ll go towards the wooden gate in the backyard of your home. As you go towards the gate, you will see a cliff at the right hand side, look toward it and your will discover the first artifact.
2. After you pass through the wooden door, you will reach an area with a set of stone stairs. You will find the second artifact to the left of these stairs.
3. Go upstairs and pass the bridge. You will have your first battle here. Defeat Draugr and go forward in the direction of the lifestone that is in front of you. Now take a right and climb up the cliffs and a waterfall will be on left side. At the top of the cliff, there will be a chain to the right side. Climb down and defeat the wolves below. Now turn to the left, and you will see the third artifact on the right side of the fallen tree.
4. Keep going, and you will see some ruins. Then you will cross a broken bridge and go downstairs. There, you will need to defeat another Draugr. Now go towards the door with a life gem in front of you. Go through the door and fight the Draugr and wolves outside. Look along the right cliff face, and you will see the last artifact.
River Pass and Witch’s Cave: Faces of Magic:
You will get first seven artifacts during your visit to River Pass as the part of a path to Mountain.
1. A time will come in the game when you will fight your first true human enemies, and at that time you will be close to this artifact. Defeat them, then climb up the chain. Now cross over a gap along the wall and upon reaching the other side, climb down into the opening that you just crossed. Now follow the path to end, and you will find the first artifact in a dead body.
2. Now go back the way you came and then climb up. Go to the bridge, help Brok in crossing and then defeat enemies. Now when the Brok’s shop is in front of you, take a path to the right. Go to the end of the way and then drop down to the right, you will again find the second artifact on the dead body.
3. After escaping the deadly ceiling puzzle, you will find the third artifact in front of you. It will be on a dead body against the right-hand wall.
4. Right after finding the third artifact, you will boost up Atreus over the ledge, and it will start a cutscene on the cliff side. After the end of this cutscene, turn to your left, and you will find the fourth artifact.
5. After solving the sand puzzle, go to the cave and turn to the first left. Climb the ledge, and you will find the fifth artifact in a puddle between runes.
6. After fighting and defeating the troll, exit his arena, and you will get to a burned village. The sixth artifact will be located at the fourth house to your right, just look behind it.
7. After playing the game for some time, you will end up in witch’s cave under her house. Go down with the ramp and then turn to the left side. Keep going along the tunnel and then drop down. Now grab the pallet full of the rocks and then move it towards the water. Push it inside the river. Jump on it and across the next platform; you will find the seventh artifact.
You will find the remaining two artifacts from Faces of Magic when you get back to River Pass, more specifically at the cave and house of Witch during “A New Destination.”
1. After returning to the cave, climb up the old well to reach the front yard of the witch. Follow the ramp down at the top of the well, and you will pass by the first artifact near a corpse at your right side.
2. From the front yard of the witch, turn left and then climb up the chain reaching to a ledge. The second artifact will be hidden in the grass at the left side of the path.
Shores of Nine – Abandon Ship:
You can find the nine artifacts of abandon ship when you first arrive at the “Lake of Nine” during the Path to Mountain.
1. Lookout Tower: When you exit the tunnel of witch’s cave turn right and then follow the shore. You will come across the first dock that will be the Lookout Tower. There is a panel above the Nornir chest on the wall, spin it to retract spikes in the ground. You will find the artifact in front of a corpse at the right side of the chest.
2. Niflheim Tower: Go back past the tunnel of Witch’s Cave around Lake of Nine. You will find the artifact at the top of the Niflheim Tower. Go up with the elevator.
3. Isle of Death: Dock your boat at the Isle of Death and climb up the wall ahead. Turn to the left and destroy the rocks having fire pot. And you will find another artifact next to the corpse.
4. Forgotten Caverns: Go to the Forgotten Caverns and fight with the Draugr, Climb up the chain that is on the right side of beach. Turn to the left side and there will be an artifact with a corpse.
5. Helheim Tower: Go to the top of the Helheim Tower through the elevator, then fight the Hel-walkers. After that, you will find the artifact next to the elevator leaning against huge doors.
6. Alfheim Tower: Again, go to the top of this tower through the elevator and then cross this tower to find an artifact on the left side.
7. Stone Falls: Finding this one will take a bit of work. Go through the game and then clean up enemies. Then look for a closed gate at the right side of the arena. Climb on its ledge and get the artifact.
8. Cliffs of Raven: Look to the left of a dead giant to get some planks to smash. Now boost the boy through the gap and have him get the chain down for you. Climb up and then run pas legendary chest to get the artifact.
9. Tyr’s Bridge: You will find this artifact to the east of Tyr’s Bridge at the boat dock. This dock is not the one closest to where you entered Lake of Nine, but it is on the opposite side.
Horns of Veithurgard:
When you are exploring the Lake of Nine, you will come across an area at the Stone Falls. You can pick up Hammer Fall Favor from there and then open games to the hidden region of Veithurgard. You will get five artifacts in there.
1. The first artifact is at the end of the dock of the beach of Veithurgard and to your left.
2. Now to the right side of the beach, you will find a chain to open the gate to the left of the chain. Go through that gate and then climb up to the top of the cliff. Then start going back down to the beach. When you drop from the top of the cliff, you will find some planks. Smash those planks to find the second artifact.
3. You will find three shrines to free dragon Otr outside the fortress. When you are going from the second to the third shrine, you will blow up some rocks with fire pots that are in front of the doors to the fortress. The third artifact is behind the rocks with the fire pots.
4. The fourth artifact is located next to the corpse behind a few crates, and you will find them when you are returning to the altar to free the Otr.
5. The fifth and the last artifact can be found inside the dwarven forest. Just drain some of the water out of the channel, and final artifact will be at the surface of that channel.
Alfheim Spoil of War:
You can get all five artifacts on the first visit during The Light of Alfheim. But remember, you will not be able to find the first two until you are exploring the Lake of Light.
1. When you reach the Lake of Light, follow the shore towards the left side. You will reach the Light Elf Shore. Now upon beaching the canoe, turn to the right and then follow the broken pier towards the water to get the first artifact.
2. The second artifact is at the Light Elf Sanctuary. Follow the shore to the right, work your way around the sanctuary, pass the puzzle doors and then loop around to the right. Before you drop back down to the beach at the place where you started, you will find the second artifact at your feet.
Now the rest of the artifacts can be found in the main temple:
3. For a while, you will not be able to find any artifacts and Atreus will also be kidnapped. Then you will fight the Ancient and a few Dark Elves. Now, restore bridges on the platform where you fount the Ancient, and head to the left to uncover the third artifact.
4. After some of the fighting exploring, you go to the dark and closed trench through the elevator, you will find the artifact in a cell that is behind you.
5. You will make a light bridge off to the left-rear at the main part of the trench. In next room, you will knock a crystal down and it will release some Draugr. You will find the fifth and the last artifact in one of their cells.
The Mountain: Bottoms Up:
During the journey chapter “Inside the Mountain,” you can collect five artifacts.
1. Once you have taken the Sky Mover up and have cleared the Black Breath, you will finally get inside the mountain. During the first visit to the throne room of deer-headed statue, you will pass through a long tunnel from the door on the right side. Back in the cavern, there is a Nornir chest. You will find the first artifact directly across the Nornir chest. Just smash a table and some planks to find it.
2. After a while, in the Heart of the Mountain, you will need to find a cart and move it, and as soon as you do that, you will find a spiked door. Use your ax to knock it open, and you will get the second artifact inside.
3. After talking to Sindri and fighting Hraezlyr, you will go back inside the mountain. After going a bit of climbing, you will then need to move a shattered crystal and a basket to destroy some materials. You will find the third artifact behind the basket in an alcove.
4. A little while after that, you will approach a summit by running along a snowy ridge. You will find a quick way up that will be blocked by the Hel bramble. Turn to the left and follow the way around to collect the fourth artifact.
You can only get the last artifact when you return to Mountain during the Return to Summit.
5. After getting back inside the mountain, you can go around left to the throne room and skip going through it. You will reach back to the room where you earlier created the elevator; there will be a sap wall under the platform at your left side. You will find the fifth artifact behind the sap wall.
HelHeim: Family Heirloom:
You will first get to visit the Helheim while playing the main story chapter The Sickness. And during this visit, you will be able to collect first three artifacts.
1. Once you exit into the Helheim proper and leave the Tyr’s Temple, take a right turn. There, at the corner, you will find the first artifact.
2. Down the bridge, there will be a locked door that you can’t pass. You will have to turn left, get through some Hel bramble and then take a detour. You will have to climb some pillars and fight a few Hel walkers. Now after you have climbed down the pillars, look behind you for a broken pillar. You will find the second artifact neat the top of that pillar behind the Hel bramble.
3. After getting back up to the bridge, you will pass beneath an overpass. You will find the third artifact stuck to the underside of the overpass.
To get the last two artifacts, take a trip back to the Helheim with Atreus.
4. Keep running along the bridge until you arrive at the second overpass. Now climb up and then cross it to the left. Now get Atreus to blow up sap wall so you can get inside the hidden chamber. You will find the first artifact behind that sap wall.
5. Go down to Valkyrie’s area through the elevator. Before getting to Rota’s arena, take stairs up towards the balcony. You will find the artifact behind the brazier on the left side.
Wildwoods: Lost and Found:
All Lost and Found artifacts can be collected in Wildwoods region during the Marked Trees story chapter.

River Pass and Witch’s Cave: Faces of Magic:
You will get first seven artifacts during your visit to River Pass as the part of a path to Mountain.
1. A time will come in the game when you will fight your first true human enemies, and at that time you will be close to this artifact. Defeat them, then climb up the chain. You will find the remaining two artifacts from Faces of Magic when you get back to River Pass, more specifically at the cave and house of Witch during “A New Destination.”
1. After returning to the cave, climb up the old well to reach the front yard of the witch. Follow the ramp down at the top of the well, and you will pass by the first artifact near a corpse at your right side.
2. From the front yard of the witch, turn left and then climb up the chain reaching to a ledge. The second artifact will be hidden in the grass at the left side of the path.
Shores of Nine – Abandon Ship:
You can find the nine artifacts of abandon ship when you first arrive at the “Lake of Nine” during the Path to Mountain.
1. Lookout Tower: When you exit the tunnel of witch’s cave turn right and then follow the shore. You will come across the first dock that will be the Lookout Tower. 5. Helheim Tower: Go to the top of the Helheim Tower through the elevator, then fight the Hel-walkers. After that, you will find the artifact next to the elevator leaning against huge doors.
6. Alfheim Tower: Again, go to the top of this tower through the elevator and then cross this tower to find an artifact on the left side.
7. Stone Falls: Finding this one will take a bit of work. Go through the game and then clean up enemies. Then look for a closed gate at the right side of the arena. Climb on its ledge and get the artifact.

When you are exploring the Lake of Nine, you will come across an area at the Stone Falls. You can pick up Hammer Fall Favor from there and then open games to the hidden region of Veithurgard. You will get five artifacts in there.
1. The first artifact is at the end of the dock of the beach of Veithurgard and to your left.
2. Now to the right side of the beach, you will find a chain to open the gate to the left of the chain. Go through that gate and then climb up to the top of the cliff. Then start going back down to the beach. When you drop from the top of the cliff, you will find some planks. Smash those planks to find the second artifact.
3. You will find three shrines to free dragon Otr outside the fortress. When you are going from the second to the third shrine, you will blow up some rocks with fire pots that are in front of the doors to the fortress. The third artifact is behind the rocks with the fire pots.
4. The fourth artifact is located next to the corpse behind a few crates, and you will find them when you are returning to the altar to free the Otr.
5. The fifth and the last artifact can be found inside the dwarven forest. Just drain some of the water out of the channel, and final artifact will be at the surface of that channel.
