Hi,

I know this question has been asked a few times already, but each answer is different depending on what the budget and specs/the laptop is going to be used for etc.

Basically, at the moment I have a HP DV6-1005ea, which is pathetic at playing games, no real problems elsewhere though!

My budget is about £800 and I wanted to know if its possible to find a good laptop that I play games on (not on ultra-high, but at least medium/high settings). I would also need it to be quite small so ideally would like no bigger than 16''.

Any suggestions, I have looked about a bit but nothing really value for money jumps out at me.

Thanks!

That laptop is very nice although slightly out of my price range 🙁 medium graphics would be fine. The main two games I like playing are empire total war and civ 5, but they barely run at all on my current laptop which i think has a 9200gm 😱

I also like watching films on my laptop so a good resolution would be great also

thanks! I have heard alot about Dell, that they are unreliable and poorly built, do you know if thats true?

Also for what i want the laptop for, i guess that processor and ram aren't as important as a good graphics card

how about this acer one.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115851&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3640576&SID=skim525X832

its in $'s but im sure i can from a uk seller, it has a good graphics card and looks pretty decent

Its one of the best 14" laptops available, aside from Envy 14,I haven't seen any 14" laptops with better specs. The price is quite good too,so its overall a good choice.
