Good Mic for recording voice and/or instrument

I would like to upload some singing or playing instruments online and would like to have a professional sound.
Especially I would like for it to catch bass sound especially well.
Could you recommend something? I'm open to all price ranges although I would prefer something within $100.

This review says that it sounds bad. "Another, much better choice in a similar price range is the AKG D5, or you can step up to the Shure Beta 58, which is much, much better, and a microphone I can easily recommend"
