Could anyone recommend a good, reliable laptop, for studying and general personal use (web browsing, photos, music, etc).
1. I want it to potentially last at least 4/5 years - my hp laptop has only lasted 3, and started to go really slow after a year.
2. I'm not a gamer, so don't need a laptop designed for that.
3. I'm easy on budget because I want a decent laptop, but would prefer not to be too much over £1200.
4. The laptop will be used for several hours each day for studying.
5. I also want it to have long battery life, and to be light and portable. Would quite like a 13" one, or max 15".

I was considering getting a mac, because they're so reliable and portable and I'm sick of constant windows updates making my laptop slower and slower. Any thoughts on this?
Also, I'm a bit of a technophobe, so I don't really understand what RAM, rpm, all the other laptop specs actually mean, so I'm a bit confused when it comes to buying laptops!
