Solved! Google maps for Android tablet

Last update for Google Maps will not run on my Android tablet.

Did you try uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it? Should that not work, then you may well only be able to use the older version of the app. I would check the apps info no google play and see what the Android requirements it has listed. Make sure your tablet is a version that will work.

If that isn't the case, and the above doesn't resolve it, then what exactly is the app doing?

I uninstalled the updates, which gave me back the factory maps which is a beta version.

When I try the latest updates the app just goes away back to my home screen.

sound like your tablet not support the new app. what is the exact model?

It is a Verizon Ellipses 10, software Verizon IR7_20C63, Android version 5.1
