Google+ not loading on data

My phone used to be able to bring up google+ and load it but now it won't load I will try several times and the same message popped up saying check your connection and try again so I would do all that and everything is right but still won't load. When I'm on Wi-Fi it will load and i get thousands of notifications from the app.....I guess what I'm trying to figure out is how to fix this or maybe find a couple things to try ....
