Google Wants You to Log In Using a USB Key

It is ridiculous the amount of hoops we have to jump through these days to be secure. I am not against a 2 step verification system but to date I haven't seen anything viable without adding extensive hassle to the process. Even cellular 2step is flawed when you travel to different countries and need to pick up a local sim. Sadly the best way is still to have an extravagantly long password and if the providers security fails its all for nothing.

There are some pretty good smartphone apps. Google Authenticator and Authy are both pretty simple to use, and after setting it up once you're good to go (at least, for apps that support them. I'm looking at you, Twitter and LinkedIn).

They also both work when you're offline, so you can use it even if you have no mobile signal at all!
