what would be a good graphic card to use in a gateway M6843 laptop

i may be wrong but i wasnt aware laptop graphics cards could be upgraded

^ you're correct; they generally can't. Very very few notebooks allow you to - and since Gateway is a value brand, I very doubt the possibility of upgrades.
