Hey guys!
I'm looking for a good laptop to use for school and video games. I'd like to stress on the gaming aspect, as I hate dealing with lag. I work in IT at my university, so I'm not a complete noob, But I'm definitely open to any suggestions. My price range is somewhat flexible, but I'd like to stay under $1,600 if I can help it. As far as specs go, It'd be ideal if I could find something with an Intel quad core i7 processor, around 16 gigs of memory, an SSD drive that's at least 250 gigs (and possibly a slot where I could install a terabyte HDD drive), and a sufficient graphics card (as you may be able to tell, I know nothing about graphics cards). I'm not particular about screen size or built in speakers, and it doesn't have to be pretty. I was looking at Alienware, and it seems to be fairly sturdy, but I hear mixed reviews and it seems overpriced. I've heard that I should build my own PC, and I would totally consider it, but being a laptop I'm not sure if I'm confident or knowledgeable enough to understand what parts will be compatible, etc. Any advice is highly appreciated! I want a computer that can handle some intense having at high settings, and will last me for a few years.
Thanks!

If you want a laptop, this would be a great choice, it is slightly over your budget, but it has the latest hardware and it looks really nice too.

If you want to learn to build a PC, there are a lot of people here who will help you out and making sure that the computer will be compatible because $1600 will build you a BEAST of a gaming computer that will destroy anything you throw at it no problem.

here's a pc build I threw together quickly:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FY3TNG <- basically as top end as it gets

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zswssY <- Just replaced 980 with 970 because I can't personally justify $200 extra for a 10-15% performance increase when the 970 already...
