GTX 980 (laptop) vs. 1070 (laptop)

I found two variants of the Acer Predator, the Acer Predator 17 and 17x. The 17 has a 1070 and the 17x has a 980(no "m") which one would be more future proof. IDC about battery because i will keep it on cable as much as possible.

I would go with the 1070 as its a much better GPU.

reading reviews, gtx 1070 is faster than gtx 980

Gtx 1070 is the latest iteration in Gforce GTX series

The 1070 is about 10-20 % faster than the 980.

Acer Predator 17 G9-793-78CM 17.3
-slower PCU
-less ram
-faster harddrive
- bit less hdd space
- better graphics card
-less features / options

Acer Predator 17 G9 will do just fine with existing specs for less.

if you want all the other features and spend more you can go with more expensive version.
