Hard disk DVD player skips recorded programs

I have a Sony Hard disk DVD recorder and use it a lot to record mainly ABC and SBS programs. When playing back SBS programs it skips a lot especially at the beginning. Doesn't happen with the ABC ones. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If there's a Sony FORUM site for this product that may be a better idea. That's not a common product so it may not be easy to find help here.

Unless there's a FIRMWARE update that solves a glitch this may be a sign of the device starting to fail. No idea why one station would work vs another though since the signal should be identical. Unless one is Standard and the other High Definition.
