Harman Kardon/LG TV Plasma

I have a Harman Kardon AVR40 Audio/Video receiver and a LG Plasma TV that I am trying to hook up and having a heck of a time. Can someone help PLEASE!!!

What are the audio outputs available on tv?

Most likely your TV only has digital audio output (usually optical), The receiver only has analog inputs so you will need one of these

You may need to turn the optical out on, the TV speakers off, and change the audio output type to PCM in the TV menu to get it working. Check the TV manual.

I bought 2 of them converters on Amazon. Both of them didn't work due to the analog converters red lights would not work. And with the output type PCM I could not find that on my TV.

If the TV won't output in PCM you will need a converter that accepts 5.1
