Hi, I just got harman kardon soundsticks old version with usb. No sound coming, but PC recognize them and blue power light is on. No sound though Any ideas how to fix them? Please?
It could be that your PC is still outputting sound to the sound card. If they're USB they have their own built-in sound card. You can switch to the correct one by clicking on the little speaker down in the left hand corner, and select the device you prefer with the tiny arrow after the currently selected output device:
Oki.... :-/
If you right-click that speaker and open the Playback Devices panel, while playing music. If any, which of the devices are showing a green animation indicating its playing sound?
yep, that I did - harman kardon was showing green bars. Also - I took apart sub woofer, cleaned and checked for bad soldering places or burnt marks. Everything was clean. Then I did the same with power supply and there I found what I was looking for and think that that is the problem. Please check picture below.. Now I need to identify the part though
hmz...seems that you can't add any pictures here - how weird...
It does look a bit corroded, hard to tell if it's from heat or just the kind of flux they use at their factory.
Odd that the speakers indicates they're powered on if the power adapter is dead. >.<
