HDD screw got stripped, anyway to get it off?

I just tried to open my HDD, but the screw was stripped. Any way to open the laptop without damaging it? I'm butthurted

How bad is it stripped? Use a rubber band to fill the stripped edges. Poke your screw driver into the rubberband with some force. Hopefully you can get enough grip to get it loose. The bottom HD tray screws shouldn't be that tight.

screws are pretty much it.... if its stripped then you have to drill it out....careful... 8D

try different screw heads.. sometimes usiang a different one might grab... star bits/ philips/ regular....

So you're saying it's physically on the hard-drive itself? Or it's on the plastic tray to access the hard-drive. Because in your original post you said you couldn't open the LAPTOP. This would imply you still haven't got the plastic covering off. Correct?

sorry but you still arent clear is it part of the actual hard drive?

is it a cover and the hard drive is under it?

as cant see why you would be trying to open the actual hard drive

No, i've removed the plastic cover, there's just a screw keeping the HDD in and not letting it move (BTW I JUST SENT THE LAPTOP TO A LOCAL SERVICE, I CANNOT HANDLE THAT MUCH PAIN IN MY ARSE)
