hdmi computer to sony tv

I have an asus computer. When I plug the hdmi cord to the samsung tv, it works. However, when I plug it to my Sony tv, i get no video or sound. The cord has been tested and is good. The HDMI port on the tv and the one on the laptop also work.

What is going on? why can't I get video or sound?

Sony is the best of electronic.
So its made by safe use to customers.
Turn off all devices , plug your hdmi cable first tv then pc.
Turn on tv, select input method to HDMI. Turn on pc after when the tv screen says no signal. It will be a windows starting screen appeared on tv screen. Try this and post the result here
