Question HDMI Splitter no signal

Just purchased a GANA HDMI switch 2 to 1 Connected Amazon fire stick 4k and set top tv box to one side and then straight to smart tv When switched to fire stick the tv says " no signal "

are you sure the direction is 2 input to 1 output? most I see is 1 input to 2 output

That's the question - it's not marked and their customer service is proving difficult to contact !
