HDMI TV to Laptop Audio

How to I get my sound to go FROM my TV TO my laptop? I'm trying to talk on Discord, and not have peoples voices blasting through my TV. It won't play through my laptop speakers even though I have them set to default.

Set the playback device from HDMI to the soundcard not just the speakers. Assuming you are using HDMI to connect to the TV.
