Headphones not working

my headphones aren't working i'm using windows 10 the laptop knows they are there (because of realtek HD) the headphones work on other devices its just this laptop they fail to work on

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to make sure that the headphone is set as the default sound device.
- Right click on the speaker icon and select Playback Devices.
- Once open and if the headphone is listed, right click on it and select Set Defaults then click Apply and OK.
- If it will not work, uninstall/reinstall the sound driver.
- Open Device Manager and uninstall the sound card driver.
- Reboot the laptop once uninstalled and it should reinstall the driver automatically.
- After the reboot, do test it again and see if the same problem will persist or not.

Are they headphones or a headset with dual jacks? Did you try another pair with the laptop? Did you try checking for newer drivers for the audio card?
