Headset has 3.5mm jack. Laptop has one 3.5mm jack.

Hi. My headset has only one jack and so does my laptop but when I plug in my headset it uses the laptops mic. Any fixes? Thanks

Right click on the speaker picture and choose "Recording devices". Look if the computer recognizes your microphone (Should be a "Line in" connected device as it is 3.5 mm jack.) If it does, right click on the "Line In" and mark it as default. Then check if your microphone records the voice.
If your "Line in" says that the device is "disconnected"or "Not plugged in" then I am out of ideas for now. Trying to google some more info.

Well it's not a headset it's the app,e earphones with a built in mic and the mic works on my phone.
