Headset mic is not working .

So hello everyone ! I'm here with the issue which is getting sooo annoying and destroys my plans. I'm actually a streamer and this is very important for me. I have MSI GT70 Dominator Pro laptop if that makes sense and I have my headset which is Steelseries Siberia V2 MSI edition . It has 2 plugs one is for microphone and other one is for headphones. So the headphones works great and mic worked good too, but now it has been nearly 1 month since my mic stopped working . When I plug my mic - nothing changes, instead of my headset mic works my laptop mic, maybe it wouldn't be the issue , but my laptop's mic is very quiet even with all the boosters and sound up. so don't mind my laptopt mic - the problem is that my Headset mic is not working ! I tried googling this up, but nothing really helped me . I hope I can get some help here .

Hi, It might be a cable issue, or a mic one. An option would be a different mic: http/www.amazon.com/HDE%C2%AE-Mini-3-5mm-Flexible-Microphone/dp/B00284VD02 or similar.

Thanks for reply, tommorow I will try to connect my headset to another laptop and see if it will work. If it will - It's not cable issue then. Any other answers ?

Also the thing is that this headset is not even old, I got it 5th of September . Have never dropped them or anything like that, so I couldn't say that I broke them ..

Okey, so I just checked my headset on another laptop - it works . So the headset is working - the problem is with my laptop. I noticed that when I plugged this headset to another laptop - a new mic appeared in Recording Devices, but it doesn't on my laptop. Also in Device Manager I can see my headset mic there, cu'z when I delete it and then plug my headset - it appears. So then why it doesn't appear on Recording Devices and I'm only able to use my biult-in laptop mic which is very low... I would really appreaciate any help, because this is very important.

BTW, I have Realtek HD Audio Manager installed on both laptops and I have Windows 8.1 on mine laptop and Windows 7 on that other laptop, it shouldn't be the issue since my mic worked before with Win 8.1, it just doesn't now ...

Right click the audio icon, select Recording Devices, right click, show disabled devices and check if the mic is listed there. If yes, enable it.

I checked it, but nope - it was already showing disabled devices.

A connector or controller issue on the laptop... hard to say. Is it under warranty?

Well yeah, it has 2 years warranty .. I just have no idea how that jack could be somehow broken .... I'll try to somewhere get another headset or a mic and check it . But maybe any other solutions ?

I took Mr. MSI to a computer 'windows' specialist who got all the other windows 10 things working but today I tried to get into a skype call and still no microphone - neither the internal microphone or the headset microphone. This headset and skype both work on on my old computer.

All drivers have been updated. some script has been put in so that realtek and windows 10 will now play friendly.

I need to skype for work and this is getting really tedious.....

Nope, it is still not working. No matter what headset, heaphones I use - it only catches my laptop's built-in mic which is terrible, dunno if it's because of settings or if it is actually bad, but I doubt that, because damn.. it's MSI it wouldn't be THAT bad, so I guess it also has to do something with that.. No idea what to do..
