Hearing aid compatible iphone?

The FCC mandates hearing aid compatible phones from all manufacturers in USA.
When will the hearing aid compatible iphone be release in North America?

Currently there are only two hearing aid compatible smartphones in the NA market that are any good:
Samsung Jack SGH-i637
Samsung Propel Pro SGH-i627

Are there other smartphones worldwide that work with hearing aids?
This is a much bigger problem for people than manufacturers realise, and growing, in the Western World.

My mother is vision impaired, not blind but can't see well at all.

i tried to convince her she should go for something like an iPhone, because of the bigger screen.

is there maybe an app that allows the phone to 'talk' to her when she pushes a buton, so she can be sure she is dialling correctly?

she is not much of a texter, although that could change if she could 'hear' the texts also.
