Help buying a gaming laptop!

Hi! Recently my old acer laptop broke down after about four years. Amazingly it ran games decently and I got it for $150. Now I'm looking for a laptop that can browse the web and can play games.

1. What is your budget?
At most $550

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Any size

3. What screen resolution do you want?
Doesn't matter

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable

5. How much battery life do you need?
4 hours
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
League of Legends and sometimes minecraft. It would be nice to have it on high but it wouldn't be a big deal on low.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Browsing the web and school work.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
At least 250 gb

DVD ROM is good.

I think it's not recommendable to overclock any laptop component.

why?
just monitor the temperatures.

I don't recommend OC'ing your laptop... since it only has 1 heatsink, and to think the space inside is so cramped up.. any increase in temp has a direct effect on the component... (surrounding components)

The processor for him would be the better place to put the money in the hp. in a perfect world he could get an a8 or a10 with the 7730. If his games are really

If I recall right A10 < i3 processor wise when it comes to the mobile segment.

I'd still say the HP with the i3 and 7670m is better, however incase it isn't the Acer isn't bad either.

And incase you were wondering OC'ing a laptop is fine, laptops are almost always voltage locked and hence don't actually produce more heat when pushed because they still use the same amount of power.

Next time you give advice on laptops i.e. OC'ing, please speak from experience/knowledge instead of assumptions, it really makes advice that much better.
