Help choosing between 4 similar laptops

Hi, I've been looking for a laptop to buy for my brother's birthday. It's come down to these four laptops:

The last two are the same, with one having a better processor. (The last 2 Lenovos seem appealing because of the ability to make them flip). My question is, how much of a difference is there between them performance wise? He basically uses his current laptop for school only, so it would be mostly many open windows simultaneously. My concern is also reliability and longevity.

I'm pretty much looking for nothing more expensive than $650, and it seems like these four are the best choices.

id get the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 15 15.6-Inch Touchscreen Laptop (59387570) it will be the highest performer. The larger cache an ram will do a lot more thinking the others are only sightly different.

That would be better than even the i7 one? The two are pretty much the same price...

oh yes you are correct. thats the one i though i highlighted. they are all the same pretty much minus the CPU. 2 have a tiny ssd but thats not worth getting a worse processor.

Well, the one with the i7 does have less RAM. It has 4GB, and the other Lenovo with the weaker processor has the 3mb cache and 8GB of ram (which you said are pluses). So, I think you may have confused them again, or I am confused as to which you think is better

Yeah sry I might have got them a bit confused. To clarify, more ram is better but the benefits of a better processor far outweigh the increase in ram. even in gaming large amounts of ram don.t offer much of anything. the only time you need lots of Random Access Memory is if you are running virtual machines, doing developing and such. in which case you would be using a desktop anyway. I hope that clears that up and i apologize for the confusion.

Thank you all. I'm gonna go with the Lenovo U430. It really does seem like the best option all around.
