Help connecting to internet

I have a gateway laptop with windows 7 in not sure of the model but it has letters next to gateway nv79 not sure if that helps I'm able to connect to wifi but cannot connect to the internet I have tried other solutions with help on different brands of laptops which I'm sure that doesn't help.... please help I'm not the best with computers so please explain precisely and understandable thank you

First thing would be to make sure all of the drivers are updated, for the operating system, as well as the motherboard.

Click on the link below,search for your computer model. Find the drivers and download them. Drivers are what allow the hardware and the operating system to communicate with each other and operate the way they should. The motherboard drivers include Intel network drivers among others. If you know the mobo manufacturer and the mobo model, you could try the manufacturer's website.
