Help finding a gaming laptop. Is this the best for me?

- I want to play the best games at the best settings for my money.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
- Only gaming.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
- At least 500gb HDD and a SSD for OS

i though of this asus laptop before, but it seems out of your budget range, so i chose the y70, though the y70 has touchscreen, and non-ips display, if u can afford the Asus I would suggest you to buy the asus , cause it had ips and G-sync enabled. though it has no touch screen, but its not important for gaming, this 2 laptops match you, but if you wanna the best go for the Asus.

In a way, I already did. I was considering one of the less expensive versions of the ASUS G751, and an inexpensive version of the msi GT70 (the direct predecessor to the GT72). My previous laptop was the ASUS G75, and I was very happy with it. But in the newer G751, ASUS made it very difficult to get to the fans for cleaning, something that is very important to me. I can access the fans and just about anything else in the GT70 by taking off one panel on the bottom. The GT72 is made the same way. I also didn't like the fact that I was stuck with red as the only color for the backlit keyboard if I had gotten the G751. The speakers in the GT70 and GT72 are also better than the speakers in the G751. I also wasn't fond of the red exhaust vents on the G751. msi has also improved the cooling system on the GT72, so it is now on par with the ASUS G751. My older GT70 is lacking in this respect. I will say that the G751 is a sleeker and better looking laptop than either the GT70 or GT72 (even though they weigh the same). It all comes down to personal preference, and they are both very well built machines, and I don't think either would be a bad choice.

Thank you for the reply, you've been a great help. I think I like the design of the ASUS better, so I guess I'll go with that.

Out of curiosity as you have a similar spec gaming laptop, what's the latest game you can run well?

I'm not a gamer, LOL. Sorry. I use it mostly for video editing/rendering. My best guess, with the 970m in the ASUS you should be able to run all games in high settings, and many also in ultra with a little tweaking.

but i think u got lots of money so u should build a gaming rig instead of buying a laptop it will be 500 times better than buying laptop because mobile GPU's are not nice they got the worst memory bandwith and in future when games are going to advance you will not be able to run them due to low-specs GPU which is unfortunately unupgradeable

Hey folks, just came across this one too and it looks quite nice. It has half the RAM of the one I am looking to buy but has double VRAM on the graphics compared to the other. The only other thing I am unsure about it it's design. Looks quite compact for a gaming machine, wouldn't it overheat?
