Hope you can help.

So im mainly looking for a fast laptop to download and stream movies. General internet browsing.

Im replacing my desktop as i dont have the space anymore.

I would like the option to play games but its not a priority.

looking at i5 or i7 - 8gb RAM - 1TB - backlit keyboard - graphics card would be nice.

Ive got a budget of £400 - can stretch to just over £500 if needed. But if its for the sake of a crappy GPU that wont play a lot. Ill just stick to not having one.

Im happy for refurbished for my budget.

1. What is your budget?

Closer to £400 the better

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

Not fussed

3. What screen resolution do you want?

Not fussed as will hdmi if needs be

5. How much battery life do you need?

Not fussed as only using at home

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

This is not a priority. I would like to if i can within my budget. FPS games mainly.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

Mainly for movies and general internet browsing

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

1TB

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need?

Just normal dvdrw minimum

13. What country do you live in?

UK - England

Thanks

No, I'm more than happy for ex display or refurbished. Think its the only way I'll get what I want for my money. I've seen some I like the look off, but I'm out of touch with new specs so need some advice on a good one . thanks

Thanks, but really need help on what to look for. Ive picked out a few ive seen on ebay and Dell website below

Need to know if they are good for the money. They are roughly what i'm looking for.

I dont know if I7 is always better than I5 - need help on picking processor and GPU really and whether its worth having a GPU or just to scrap the idea

2 GB AMD Radeon R7 M265

The first 2 links in the list don't work. The 2 dell with the gt 840m is the better choice rather than the amd chip. If you don't really care for gaming then an i5 ulv chip with 4 gigs of ram should do. i7 are not really needed for gaming unless you are going to be playing past high settings.

If you do want to game then a gt 840m should be ok and a i 5 m cpu will do for most games. But this will vary depending on the game.

I really would advise you to get a desktop for this low price unless the games you play are not that gpu intensive. If you could give me a few examples of games you play that would be great.

Hi - Thanks for the response.

Gaming isnt really the purpose of the laptop. If i can have it great if not, then i'm not fussed.

Games will be Battlefield Hardline - Call of duty - Need for speed - FIFA - I dont really play games like skyrim etc.

The main purpose is watching HD Movies - Downloading movies - Music etc and Extracting.

Its not very demanding but i just want it smooth and not waiting 5 mins for Itunes to open and 25 mins to extract a film.

So im really looking for a fast processor - Memory - storage and then a graphics card good enough to play the above games on medium to high settings.

Sorry its hard to explain what im looking for.

The dell one is below

Thanks.

Yeah ive seen some videos of people playing games i like with medium to high settings. Not a hugh gamer. Got consoles so its only for a few games and older ones i didnt get round to.

Just out if interesr could you suggest a medium to high? Just so i can see the price difference, i can decide then.

Thanks

Most people say that a gtx 850m is the minimum for most games. Anything higher than this is good.
