Hi,
I'm stil pretty new with changing the parts on my laptop which is an IBM R60e and I just replaced the CPU with an INTEL CORE 2 DUO T7300 2.0GHZ PROCESSOR SLA45 but it won't turn on as the lights just flash for a moment and turns right back off is this mobile chip not compatiable or is there something wrong with it?? And my bios is up to date (7EETD0WW 2.20) The Motherboard is a LENOVO: Model- 0657MU Chipset-i945GM Southbridge- 8280 1GHM (ICH7-MU). Running Windows 7 32bit. / OCZ Vertex Turbo 30GB SSD / 4GB DDR2 PC2-5300MHz Original CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz T2300E Socket Yonah 497mPGA

How did you re place that CPU? the Core Duo your computer came with uses Socket M, while the Core 2 Duo T7300 uses Socket P, and they are not compatible with each other...

It's probably a bad idea to ask if your CPU is not compatable with a motherboard AFTER you install it ;) .

As sidewinderx2 said, the CPU should not have even fit in your system properly, you could have shorted out the motherboard, bent pins on the CPU, etc...

If you put the orignal CPU in, does it work? If not, you could have just bought yourself a nice paperweight with an LCD screen.

No absolutly no bent pins and they both support PBGA479, PPGA478 479pins and fit smoothly also I put the original CPU back in and it started up fine could it be that the cpu I bought was bad!
