Ok so here's the story.

I'm pretty tech savvy, but I've found myself in a situation. I'm currently living in an apartment complex that only offers one ISP and allows no dishes. The ISP they allow is horrible. Paying high prices for slow speeds(even during off hours) and frequent disconnects. I was wondering if there was a "puck" or other mobile hotspot I could get to replace my home internet that has the speed of a normal ISP and data rates. I play video games online and download plenty. If I could find something like a mobile hotspot to take other places as well, that'd be great, but really just trying to figure out this home situation. I've tried tethering off my smartphone, but that is very iffy as well with frequent disconnects and slow speeds.

Thank you for all the help.

If your cell phone does not have good service, any USB wireless cell data modem will have the same connection. You can try looking for a data service that may be better in your area. Although Verizon is a bit pricy compared to many, they have the best coverage.
