which of these two laptop should I buy for gaming?

Solution
The first laptop is better for games because it has lower resolution which means higher performance. The 2nd laptop has a 1600x900 resolution screen which lowers the performance because the graphics chip needs to push more pixels. Of course you can lower the resolution down to 1366x768 to improve performance.

Having a 1366x768 resolution screen in my current laptop I would say that I prefer a higher resolution screen so that I can be more productive when not playing games. 1366x768 is okay for games though.

You should get at least a quad core for gaming. Since they have the same GPU I think the i7 with 4 cores is better.

I'm going to warn you. A $700 laptop can not handle intense games (Battlefield 3 or Skyrim) well.

Are you planning on carrying this around?

Yes. I want to carry my laptop everywhere I go. I research a lot about the first one and they said it can run battlefield3, skyrim, gw2 and latest games in medium to high settings with no lag. Sorry if my english is bad and thanks for your opinion

I had a laptop with a i5-460M. It was a i5 but only 2 cores. The laptop did not play Battlefield 3 well at all. I was disappointed. However, a i7 can handle the issue of the # of cores better. Also, the GPU (640M) is much better than mine was. I think you can play Battlefield 3 at Low + maybe Medium at decent fps.

Also, for carrying around you don't want a 17" screen with added weight.

What country are you buying this in?
