Help me find a good laptop below $300 or $250

Hello everyone, I am looking for a good laptop for college studies and work. I've found this "ASUS X540SA-XX161T" it looks pretty decent with an intel Celeron cpu and 500gb of hdd storage. My biggest gripe is the bloody 2gb ram... it should atleast have 8 gb. I've checked the back but it's all built in... I can't slap a new RAM in it.

Anyway I have a gaming rig already but I am looking for a cheap laptop with the option of upgradability like additional storage or more ram. I am not planning to game on it... but it would serve as a good DATA BACK UP machine and for my work related data. I just want faster multi tasking like opening word, multiple web pages without having to wait like crazy. Please suggest any alternative... cheap sub $300 laptop with upgradability if any. If none, then the best one you can offer. Thanks

That thinkpad I linked is actually a Chromebook, I just noticed that on the bezel, you may not want to get that one.
