HELP Me FIND NEW LAPTOP

Hey I am looking for a laptop that is closer to $400. A bit under a bit over, in that range. I am looking for quality brand, I do not want ACER or Gateway. I live in Canada so please try and use .ca websites. Thanks for you help

Well what do you want to do with your computer?

If you avoid ACER it may be a little harder though as hey make a lot of cheap good quality laptops.

You think ACER is good quality now? Before they were always garbage. Like WHY are the so cheap?
And regular use like web browsing and HD movies, I will also be running dual monitor setup so VGA port would be nice

I have had a desktop and three ACER laptops not a one have been junk. Granted two laptops were netbooks so they suck pretty much anyways, but they were well held together and worked perfectly fine. The laptop performed well and worked wonderful. They are cheaper because big PC names like Apple, Dell, and HP charge more for their products because they are a well known brand name. They know people will just buy it anyways cause it says that brand even if they don't know any better. When I shop for laptops I personally refuse to consider HP, and only takes me a second looking at any dell to decide its also worse. My preferred choice for anything under $800 I would say is ACER.

Sounds like a simple enough system. I will look for something non acer in your price range.

Here is what I recommend for you. This system is the best in its price range, however please note it is an open box. It is an item someone bought, decided they didn't want it and returned it, and has been cleaned by Newegg before being resold.

If you want something else, these two are what else I would recommend. The more expensive one is an Acer, and it should perform better than the cheaper of these two, so its your decision if that is what you wish. The other one at its price should still perform well for web surfing and for watching movies.
