Help me to solve this wired problem.

I am using HP 450 probook laptop with windows 7. My problem is when I start computer my computer automatically select the last icon of desktop. Also my touch pad is disabled automatically. At that moment I cant select any desktop icon using my USB mouse and computer stubbornly select only the last icon on desktop. When I press up arrow key everything becomes normal and then I can select any desktop icon without any problem.

I initially thought it is a hardware problem. But as I use dual booting windows 7 along with ubuntu 14 I started my pc in Ubuntu. Surprisingly there is no problem like this in Ubuntu. So this is not a hardware problem I guess. Can anyone tell me what is happening here? Also the solution of this problem?

It souonds like you are sleeping or hybernating windows instead of shutting down.
I'm not sure whats going on with the mouse/touchpad though. Can you still move it around just not click on anything?

try reinstalling the drivers maybe fix the issue since it doesnot doi on ubuntu
